General Division
Students enrolled in one to ten hours of dance classes per week are enrolled as General Division Students.
Pre-Professional Division
Students enrolled in ten or more hours of classes per week are enrolled as Pre-Professional Division Students. Advanced students who wish to pursue
college or professional dance careers may audition for the Pre-Professional Division. Once accepted, students must enroll in a minimum of ten hours of classes per week with major
emphasis on classical ballet training. Ballet is the foundation for all other forms of dance. This program will allow the student to progress through a carefully planned syllabus that
gradually increases technique, stamina, discipline, and artistry. Students who wish to become members of Louisiana Dance Theatre, or who wish to have college or professional
careers in dance, should consider enrolling in the Pre-Professional Division as early as age 10. A highly competitive field, students cannot afford to wait until they are age 16 (and older)
to begin training for a dance career; it must begin at an early age. Each week, students must stay for entire class to receive attendance credit.
All students are required to take a minimum of one ballet class per week.
